Outsourcing development always has supporters and opponents inside a company. Outsourcing testing rarely does. That makes nearshore QA the lowest friction way for a DACH team to start working with a partner. Three reasons, refreshed for 2026.
1. It de-risks the relationship
Testing is a contained, low emotion scope. You do not hear "QA is our core competence" or "our tests are too complex to hand over." That makes it a safe, reversible way to find out whether a partner is actually any good before you hand them product code.
2. Real impact on time to market
Adding developers to a late project rarely shortens it. Adding test capacity, and especially test automation, often does. Outsourcing testing or parts of it has a real, predictable effect on release timing.
3. Automation and AI changed what QA buys you
The 2020 pitch was "cheaper manual testing." In 2026 that is the wrong reason. The value today is quality engineering: test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and increasingly AI assisted test generation and maintenance. You are not buying cheap clicking, you are buying a faster and more reliable release pipeline. Pick a partner who does automation and uses AI in QA, not one selling manual headcount by the hour.
